Key Responsibilities:

The Capital Markets Associate will provide analytical support to the Vice President of Capital Markets and the Managing Director of Capital Markets and Investor Relations in all aspects of the firm’s debt activities. The ideal candidate will be organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Key responsibilities for this highly visible and impactful position include:

  • Assisting with the financing of new acquisitions and the refinancing of existing loans and lines of credit
  • Supporting existing lender relationships and establishing new capital sources by educating the lender market on Green Courte’s strategies, operating platforms, and unique attributes
  • Helping create lender packages, assemble due diligence requests, manage third-party reports and inspections, and track lender quotes to ensure timely and effective loan originations
  • Working alongside the investment team to price potential acquisitions and provide current market debt terms and creative alternatives to maximize property valuations
  • Leading the Capital Markets team’s efforts to integrate newly implemented technologies and automate existing processes
  • Tracking the firm’s investment portfolios to identify opportunities for value creation through repositioning, refinancing, and disposition opportunities
  • Reviewing compliance reporting to lenders and financial institutions including quarterly reports and covenant calculations
  • Maintaining and auditing the firm’s loan covenant dashboard and liquidity tracker to help anticipate areas of vulnerability and predict short-term and long-term cash flow and liquidity needs
  • Contributing to the quarterly debt fair value process, including soliciting market terms, updating valuation model, and summarizing results
  • Serving as a liaison between the capital markets, development, and asset management teams to ensure enforcement of loan documents

Experience and Qualifications:

  • BS in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or Accounting
  • Minimum two years’ experience at a commercial real estate lender
  • Exceptional analytical and verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong financial modeling and analysis skills, including excellent Excel skills
  • Ability to distill, organize, and present insightful conclusions from large volumes of data
  • Team player that works effectively with other departments, senior leadership, etc.
  • Desire to continuously improve processes and procedures
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Travel required (<25%)
